Mr. Carlos Cabrera was born in Los Angeles, CA, raised in the Midwest and is currently based in New York. Cabrera studied piano with Dr. Susan Cobb, and with Dr. Steven Widenhofer; He holds a B.A in music from Millikin University.
Cabrera caters his lessons to the individual needs of students. Lessons should help grasp skills, but most importantly be fun, and not feel like another school assignment! “If you heard it, we’ll play it”
Cabrera has performed at some of the most iconic venues including: Arline’s Grocery, Pianos, DROM, Shrine World Music Venue, Rockwood Music Hall, The Bowery Electric, The Bitter End, and The Knitting Factory. Since moving to New York, Cabrera has performed for an array of artists, including Hip-Hop, Gospel, Soul, R & B, Conscious Pop, and Rock.
Cabrera strives to have a positive impact on others through the power of music. This mindset has enabled him to travel and perform across the U.S. at venues including the legendary Whiskey A GO-GO in Los Angeles, the Carver Theatre in New Orleans, and a Midwest tour. Cabrera is currently producing pop records with his writing partner Lescribe, at “3 Red Shoes” label, teaching piano and production, and working as a session musician.
