Graduated from Hunter College/CUNY for his Master’s Degree, and from the National Music Conservatory of Mexico for his BA.
Among his performances Roberto has played at the II International Festival of Puebla (2000); VI “Cervantes por todas partes” Festival in Guanajuato(2000) with the National Opera Company of México (2000); has been a soloist with the National Youth Orchestra of Mexico (2000); performed at the Teatro Aldama Aguascalientes (2000) to mark the 425th anniversary of the founding of the city, at the Blas Galindo Auditorium of the National Arts Centre (1998), at the Silvestre Revueltas Auditorium of the National Conservatory Music (1998 and 2000), the cycle “La guitarra hoy” at the Pedro López Auditorium at the Franz Mayer Museum (1998), and at the Carlos Chávez Library (1992 and 1993).
Held a season of performances at the National Museum of Interventions, Museo del Carmen, at the rectory of the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) as well as in the Xochimilco campus of the same institution within the series “Friday Night Concert”, which has also been presented in Cuernavaca at the Cultural Center “The Tallera” and in the city of Queretaro in the week of the guitar “Cardenas Renán”. Recently had a series of performances at different campuses of the National Polytechnic Institute. Studied at the National Conservatory of Music.
Among his teachers were Marco A. Anguiano (†), Horacio Franco, Jose Suarez, Armando Luna and Juan Fernando Durán. Since 1996 takes private lessons with Gonzalo Salazar.
Has attended master classes with Hopkinson Smith (1999), Gonzalo Salazar (1995 and 1997), Ivan Rijos (1993), Ignacio Rodes (1993), Sante Tursi (1992); as well as in music theory Hebert Vázquez (1998 and 2000), Luis Jaime Cortez (1998), Leonora Saavedra (1998).
