"In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make" John Lennon/Pall McCartney
Categories: ,

Hello, my name is Robert and I’ve been a professional musician and music instructor for over 20 years! I have a bachelors and masters degree in music from CUNY Brooklyn College. For those 20 years I have taught privately, in public schools, after school programs, went on local and international tours and special professional performances at prestigious concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall. I take a very hands on approach to teaching and love to see students get excited when they make progress.

I like to jam with my students and encourage improvisation. If you have a child taking lessons with me don’t be afraid to engage them in improvisation. Let them explore what they can do intuitively and allow them to get lost in the music. It’s a great thing for their musical education and very therapeutic.

The only thing I’ll add is that I am an active musician. I still perform to this day in bands and love getting on a stage. I believe this greatly enhances my teaching abilities as it gives me practical contemporary experience to go along with the pedagogy that I am teaching the students.
