Hailed for her “superbly positioned Bel canto singing of the highest order”, noted Russian-American Soprano, Tatiana Poletskaya, has performed as a soloist in both concert and opera. Considered a Bel canto specialist, Tatiana has performed as Amina in La Sonnambula, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Elvira in I puritani, Gilda in Rigoletto, Tatyana in Eugene Onegin, and Liza in The Queen of Spades, among others.
Born is Moscow, Tatiana studied at the famed Gnessin Academy of Music and Moscow Conservatory of Music, where she earned her Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctor of Music Diplomas. Tatiana also earned an Artist Diploma at the Mannes School of Music in New York City. Tatiana was an artist-in-residence and soloist with the Moscow Philharmonic Orchestra, where was soloist in hundreds of performances and premiers at the Moscow Concert Hall and Moscow Philharmonic.
A passionate performer of new works, Tatiana regularly collaborates with contemporary composers. She is a frequent collaborator with Nataliya Medvedovskaya, with whom she has premiered several new works commissioned specifically for her voice. She is also Soprano Soloist at the Synod Russian Orthodox Church in Manhattan, New York. She can be regularly seen performing at the famed Friar’s Club, Papillon Bistro, Taci Opera Café, Tomasso Italian Bistro, La Ravista, Russian Vodka Room, and Russian Samovar.
Aside from her performance activities, Tatiana is also a noted voice teacher and pedagogue and maintains and active studio of young singers. She has been a voice and music teacher at the Shostakovich School of Music, Belvoir Terrace Summer Camp, and Art of Playing Music School. When she is not performing or teaching, Tatiana can be found riding her bicycle around her neighborhood in Queens, New York.
